Notch Equipment’s new Wear Safe Steel Rings are the arbor industry’s first steel friction rings that feature a wear-
indicator mark for increased safety and ease of inspection, according to the company. These rings are made of hot-forged steel and are CNC (computer numerical control)-turned for a smooth, rope-friendly finish. The 33% larger bend radius plus the orange wear-safe indicator are designed to make these rings different from anything else available on the market today. Safety coordinators from large, national tree care companies were involved in the testing of the new rings. During the evaluation, one reviewer said the new rings are “a game changer.” These rings are available in two sizes, 28 mm and 48 mm inside diameter, and are featured in various friction-saver configurations. They have a 30 kN MBS (minimum break strength) rating.
